I hope your day is amazing! I just returned home from a gorgeous road trip through Oregon, Washington, Montana, Idaho, and back to Marin County, CA.
I took this picture on the last leg of my trip at Norris Hot Springs in Bozeman, Montana. I noticed in this picture it actually looks like I lost weight and built abs without working out on my road trip and I wanted to share with you how I did it.
Thanks to starting a raw vegan diet 7 years ago, I still have a “raw” mindset even though nowadays I eat raw paleo and some organic cooked foods.
Along my road trip I stopped at many food co-ops and stocked up on local fresh fruit and vegetables such as blueberries, cherries, apples, carrots, and avocados – and I always left with a kombucha and some raw chocolate in my hand.
I like easy road trip food to be fruit because it keeps me hydrated, awake, and is low in calories. I was just sitting and driving so I wasn’t burning many calories and didn’t have the need for much food.

I bought raw milk, raw eggs, and raw honey and made raw milk shakes using a glass mason jar in the car. I think of this as liquid meat with its complete protein profile, healthy saturated fats, and much needed vitamins and minerals for my hiking adventures to come on my trip.
This liquid raw protein meal is loaded with enzymes, probiotics, is easy to digest, and builds muscle naturally. It’s also great for maintaining weight!
Remember that most protein powders are highly processed and denatured along with additives, preservatives, sweeteners, and a long list of unrecognizable ingredients.

Weight loss practice in action:
– Keep a “raw food” mindset when food shopping. Try not to buy things in packages. I noticed dehydrated raw foods tend to be drying on my kidneys so eat fresh food.
– Drink raw smoothies and juice until dinner.
– Replace meals with the raw protein drink recipe above.
– Drink 8 glasses of unprocessed water a day.
